I'm migrating the site over to the Drupal engine so things will probably look like a train wreck until I have added all functionality and finished the theme.

Since I always finish top ten in the Procrastination World Champoinships when it comes to personal projects I'm launching this "work in progress" to save it from not being launched at all. A huge thank you to Mien for kicking my butt everytime I end up trying to tweak something to perfection instead of settling for good enough in order to advance the project. Love you honey!

I've read lots of forum questions and bug reports from 2006 to 2008 on the same problem. Just google compiz slow or compiz firefox slow. None of them have provided any successful solution to the problem. Since there seem to others who have the same problem here's my solution.
My problem had to do with not enabling EXA. Adding:
